Northern Australia Grants Program Update

  • The $80 million (GST exclusive) in grant funding has been fully allocated following the first assessment tranche. The Minister for Agriculture and Northern Australia closed the programs on 8 April 2022.

  • All 30 successful recipients have been publicly announced. 

  • The NADP experienced a high level of demand (196 applications received) with quality applications across a broad range of sectors, particularly the manufacturing, agriculture and aquaculture and health services. Over 10 percent of applications were received from Indigenous organisations.

  • Many unsuccessful applications will have access to Strengthening Northern Australia Business (SNAB) advisory services.

Kings Quarry Processing Plant Upgrades Incorporating Manufactured Sand

Grant amount: $2,000,000 (GST exc.)

Project description: Purchase new crushing equipment to expand Mobile Crushing's current quarry operations in Mackay. This project will modernise the processing plant, providing the competitive edge necessary to compete with multi-national organisations for local and state tenders, increase productivity, reduce the current levels of worker overtime, and improve environmental outcomes.
